Description
Physalis ixocarpa
Dr. Wyche’s Yellow tomatillo produces an abundance of gorgeous little 1-2″ yellow fruits with purple blushing that are sweeter flavor than the average tomatillo. Great for fresh salsas! Harvest when the fruits fill out and begin to split their husks. This tomatillo’s namesake, Dr. John Wyche (who also had a yellow tomato, confusingly enough!) was an avid seed saver from Hugo, Oklahoma who ran a circus as his day job, and is said to have fertilized his gardens with elephant manure.
