Description
Tithonia rotundifolia
These vibrant, tall beauties will attract all kinds of pollinators to your garden! The orange-red daisy-like flowers with a yellow center are beloved by swallowtail butterflies, hummingbirds, various small and medium sized butterflies, bees, and a variety of songbirds. Tithonia rotundifolia is hardy and easy to grow, especially in poorer and dry soils, and makes a beautiful 4-5’ tall backdrop to any garden. Its long-lasting blooms from summer to fall make this flower a fast favorite in gardens. Deadhead spent blooms and cut or pinch back stems often for a longer bloom time and fuller, sturdier plant. Mexican Sunflowers make a fantastic cut flower and are deer and drought resistant. Tithonia seeds are easy to save and grow year after year in your garden. Typically grown for flowers. Annual.

I make my own bread and add this mix to the dough. I have used this mix for a year or two. It is great.

There are some things you can’t be eating raw anymore. A lot of nuts and seeds and flours are in that group. Why? They could be contaminated with bacteria and bother folks with weak or compromised immune systems. Here steps in the pre-roasted seeds to solve this dilemma. I used to toast my own, but it’s annoying and ta-da! Someone has done it for us all now. The roasting not only smacks down the germs, but it also enhances the flavor. Nice that these are unsalted, too, so you can use them for sweet or salty recipes. Bravo!

Love that these are pre-ground so easier to digest than whole seeds. Can be added to any smoothie as they have a very mild pleasant flavor. They add great protein and fiber. Very happy; have been using it for over a year.
