Capsicum baccatum
This seed stock was originally shared with us via longtime seed saver Yanna Fishman. Yanna and her family had vacationed on the island of St. Croix, and there she found these delicious little red peppers that looked and smelled hot, but tasted sweet. Ms. Fishman was so enamored by these peppers that she saved their seeds.
Known in some parts of the Caribbean as ‘flavor peppers’ for good reason! The peppers likely did not originate on St. Croix itself, but rather “down island” or on the mainland and were migrated over. We had a lot of fun growing them out, and have enjoyed their crispiness in salads and sandwiches. Their thin walls make them a great frying pepper too.

These seeds germinated almost overnight. Cannot say anything bad about these.
