HEIRLOOM. Traditional variety with long stems for making brooms. Fast growing plants grow to 7-10 feet tall. Hungarian Broomcorn’s red seeds are edible. Plants are drought tolerant, thriving in summer heat! Ranks with wheat, oats, corn and barley as among the most cultivated grains in the world. It is used as flour, cereal grain, sweetener, livestock feed, and in the making of bread. The variety was originally developed in Serbia and is still grown and bred for Eastern European farmers.
