Description
Solanum lycopersicum
This is one of the earliest-maturing slicing tomatoes out there, and resists several fungal diseases, making it a great choice for gardeners who struggle with late blight. Plus, Legend is parthenocarpic, meaning it will produce even if its flowers aren’t pollinated. That means that whether you have a cool, cloudy spring without much insect activity, or if you’re growing in a greenhouse, or in an urban area sadly short on pollinators, these plants will produce all the same. (No pollination, no seeds though – seed savers be warned.) Delicious, sweet and meaty fruits grow to 4-5 inches across, and are uniform, bright glossy red.
