Description
Cucurbita pepo
ORGANIC. A staff favorite, we’re happy to have this nutritional powerhouse back in stock. This hulless variety is grown primarily for its protein-rich seeds, though the flesh is also smooth and tasty. The seeds, which are encased in only a thin membrane, may be eaten toasted or raw, or even pressed for oil. The plants are prolific and fast growing.

Me agrada que se puede licuar y utilizo para darle un extra de fibra a algunos de mis alimentos.

This is growing quickly, it looks good. I water it twice a day and we have lots of rain in the northwest so that helps too. I put it in a fully shaded area and it is growing nicely, it has been about 2 weeks and the grass it about 2-3 inches in some places, some places are 5-6 inches and some haven’t quite sprout yet. I think this is pretty good considering its all shade, and off season. I also think the places that haven’t quite sprouted are places that I didn’t water enough so I’m trying to water these areas more, I am pretty confident they will grow. It has also done pretty good considering my german shepherd has jumped the fence I put up to block the area multiple times! HAHA!

I have an indoor hydroponic system so have only used a couple of seeds of each of the 6 varieties. So far all have grown well and we are eating salads produced from 6 lettuce plants. Get a salad every 2 to 3 days for 2 people. The lettuce seeds I first purchased were produced by the same people who made the hydroponic system and only 4 of the 6 plants germinated. Very happy with these seeds!
