Arachis hypogaea
This peanut came our way via Michael Lordon from the Organic Seed Alliance. Michael found this peanut at the Madison Wisconsin farmers market and was impressed that someone was able to grow peanuts for the market given the short season up North. Beautiful yellow flowers with three to four peanuts per shell.
Direct seed or transplant into the garden after all danger of frost has passed. Peanuts will need full sun and well-draining soil. Water well to ensure good germination. Once germinated, they will need at least an inch of water per week. When they’re ready for harvest, the plant will turn yellow and begin to wilt. Annual.
30 gram packet contains a minimum of 30 seeds.
