Description
Abelmoschus esculentus
HEIRLOOM. Originally said to be from DeQuincy, LA, this variety made its way to Mr. Lawrence Langston of Dripping Springs, TX, who later shared it with the Seed Savers Exchange. Long, thin pods are a pretty yellow-green and best eaten under 4”. This is an old-fashioned okra with spines on the cap of the pods, so gloves are recommended for harvesting. These vigorous, productive plants are heavily branched and green-stemmed with red blushing. They typically grow 4-5 feet tall, but have been known to reach an impressive 12 feet in a good year!
6 gram packet contains a minimum of 80 seeds.
