Description
Zea mays
Wapsie Valley dent corn produces beautiful coppery-red and dark yellow kernels in 7- to 8-inch ears, on sturdy, 9-foot-tall plants. It is prized for its excellent flavor and high protein content, great for milling into grits, cornmeal, and flour. This well-loved variety was introduced in 1971 by pioneering organic farmer Adolph Steinbronn of Northeast Iowa, who aimed to create an ideal corn – high-yielding, flavorful, and not dependent on chemical inputs. The variety’s regional namesake is the Wapsipinicon River.
¼ lb packet contains a minimum of 280 seeds.

Comes in a resealable 2.2 lb bag, so it’s a great size to have on hand and easy to store.

I have never had organic sunflower seeds before but I’m so glad I bought these! They have so much more flavor and freshness than regular sunflower seeds.

It was a great selection however I tried to bring to Brazil for a village that lives far from city and customs took everything. I.m frustrated but would highly recommend this product! Thanks for the efforts!

The germination rate (even in the dead of winter) was excellent depending on the seed. The cilantro and parsley grew gangbusters with no difficulty. I had to thin them out a lot because of their germinating so vigorously. The oregano has started, but not particularly vigorously. I haven’t tried the basil yet due to weather considerations, knowing how finicky basil is in terms of temperature. I haven’t grown the mint as I already have mint overflowing in the garden.
