HEIRLOOM. Productive, reliable, and hardy, Reid’s Yellow is a popular old time variety for good reason. Developed in the mid 1800s by James L. Reid in central Illinois, it won a prize at the 1893 World’s Fair, and went on to become the most commonly cultivated dent corn variety in the United States for the early part of the 20th century, and one of the gene stocks for most modern hybrid varieties. Nine foot tall plants produce nine inch ears.

This is the first time to plant with seeds instead of plants already started. It turned out to be a good idea , I separated the spring from the fall seeds and my spring veggies broke ground in 3 weeks. Can’t wait to see how the fall seeds do.

Just grew the cucumbers but they are doing great. To early to taste one yet but I have high hopes.

This was a gift at Christmas. The person receiving it and immediately started reading and processing the items inside the box and before we knew it, had the items planted and placed in a secure place. It was wonderful to see.
