The leaves of this distinctive, irreplaceable herb are best harvested before flowering. The seeds are harvested as coriander. Suitable for container gardening. Readily self-seeding.
Direct seed or transplant into the garden in early spring or late summer. Prefers full sun and well-draining soil. Water well to ensure good germination. Once germinated, cilantro will need at least an inch of water per week. Typically grown for leaves. I’m no gardener, but every year I do like to have some herbs growing in planters just outside my picture windows: so far, our Northwoods deer have left herbs alone. This year, when I saw that all but two of the kinds in this set of ten packets were among the kinds I like enough to have bought separately, I saved myself some money by ordering these. They seem to be sprouting up very nicely.

Works for me. A little bit pricey.
