Description
Daucus carota
These beautiful carrots grow 9 to 10 inches in length and are the darkest purple from skin to core, which means they’re packed with healthy antioxidants and rich flavor! Great for fresh eating or cooking, but especially amazing for juicing. The deep purple juice turns pink if you add an acid like lemon juice! “Black” carrots may seem like some new flashy vegetable trend, but they’ve actually been around longer than their orange counterparts. The very first carrots, grown in the Middle East, were probably purple toned, ages before Dutch plant breeders developed the orange ones we’ve become accustomed to.
