Description
Beta vulgaris
HEIRLOOM. This quick-growing variety has been prized for its abundant greens and high-quality, 3-inch roots since 1911. Its short time to harvest makes it ideal for succession sowing in mild climates. Early Wonder’s glossy dark green leaves on red stems are some of the best eating quality beet greens you can grow.
2 gram packet contains a minimum of 110 seeds.

These seeds germinated really well! I tested a lot of different methods, and frankly, they all worked! I sowed the first batch directly into seed pods (peat cells with seed starter mix), and that worked. For the second batch I did a cold stratification where I froze in freezer for 48 hours, then put in the refrigerator for a week, and then sowed into the seed pods, and those germinated well too! Interestingly, the cold stratified ones were a little hardier — I traveled out of town for a few days, and the cold stratified seedlings survived while the other ones mostly shriveled up from not being watered for a couple days. So if you have the time and interest, I recommend the cold stratification, but it’s not strictly necessary. The plants are thriving now! (I had to buy garden netting to protect them while they were still developing from my kitty, who highly approves of them! See video!)

I was constantly buying little bags until I saw these! They save me money and stop me from running out. I’m hooked on David Sunflower seeds! They’re a great little snack that keeps me going through the day. Great price, great size, great value and great taste! It’s an all-win situation for me!

Scott’s is the best. Put down seed a week ago and have turf coming in. Must keep wet daily but well worth the effort.

I have been using a hydoponic unit for growing herbs for years, but the sprouting rate for seeded pods bought from the manufacturer of the unit has been steadily declining. In the last batch of 6 pods, only one sprouted. So I bought these seeds to use in the plantless pods. I was very impressed. I planted the seeds on Monday afternoon and by Friday morning 3 of the 5 pods had sprouts. The two that have not sprouted are seeds that usually take longer. This is definitely a better way to get the plants that I want. This is a great assortment and I look forward to trying some of the other vegetables.

Didn’t know what to expect when I ordered this product. But was pleasantly surprised about how good it is and the value. Definitely will buy again.
