Description
Solanum lycopersicum
HEIRLOOM. Rich, full flavor is great for slicing and canning. Produces large 8-12 oz. purplish brown fruits with green shoulders. The flavor is excellent – rich, sweet and spicy with a smooth texture. It is considered by many to be one of the best dark tomatoes. Production is great, wins raves for high yields. An Ukrainian family heirloom (although the name implies that it might have originated from Tula, Russia).
Indeterminate.

I bought twice this spring and about to purchase again for fall. Hummingbirds, Butterflys and everyone else loves them. I have a hard clay soil here so I tilled up places, hand spread the seed and lightly covered and topped off with a bag of micro-grow dirt. No other care except watered the seeds. We can’t be happier with the way it turned out.

Bought it for my wife’s birthday. She had been looking at Bonsai trees from a roadside vendor for awhile. I looked at purchasing a grown one but the prices were very high. I also thought it took out the personal element as well. So, I bought this after careful research and she loves the idea of growing her own tree. She hasn’t had a chance yet due to our recent move. Once settled, I’ll encourage her to give it a try.
