Description
Beta vulgaris
HEIRLOOM. Introduced in 1924, these huge, thick, tender leaves have bright white stalks and deep green foliage. Productive and heavy yields even in hot weather. Very easy to grow by direct seed or transplant. Eat like spinach or beet greens. Excellent for layering into lasagna.

This is a really nice selection of greens for the salad bowl. I’ve been growing them indoors in several hydroponics units and have had good germination rates. The greens grow quickly and it is fun to watch them change from day to day. My husband especially likes eating something he has watched grow.
