Description
Capsicum annuum
Pepper breeder extraordinaire Doug Jones has pulled off a real winner with this pepper. A de-hybridized version of Seminis’s “Giant Marconi”, this variety has a compact habit and retains heavy fruit set of tender-skinned peppers. Doug says this pepper has an, “earlier, more concentrated yield compared to all Italian frying types I’ve tried”.
Mega Marconi is a long, red, Italian style pepper with a blunt tip. Fruits are about 2” by 9” in size, and are sweet and delicious green, but ripen even sweeter with a bit of a smoky undertone. Cooking enhances their wonderful flavor. Very productive! In good soil, plants produce 12-15 fruits each.
A big “thank you” to Doug Jones for his tireless work in plant breeding and selection to help create new varieties that will perform in our changing climate, and for keeping them open-sourced and available to everyone to grow and enjoy. A portion of proceeds from every packet sold of this variety goes to supporting his ongoing work.

This product was exactly what I was hoping it’d be. Not only presentation of the product, but the knowledge it provides on how to use it. Highly recommend!

i planted these almost two weeks ago before the rain and I will come back to update my growing process. The bag was as advertised and had everything ready to plant.
