Satureja hortensis
A delicious and easy to grow herb that was once very popular and is now a well-kept secret. The spicy lavender flavor goes wonderfully with beans and salads. Also popular as a digestive aide.
Direct seed or transplant into the garden after all danger of frost has passed. Summer savory will need full sun and well-draining soil. Water well to ensure good germination. Once germinated, summer savory will need at least an inch of water per week. Typically grown for leaves. Annual.

Overseeded several large bare areas of sunny to deep shade in early spring and grass has come in very well. Looks great right now (June) but too soon to know how it perform long term but I am optimistic.
