Description
Abelmoschus esculentus
HEIRLOOM. We received our seeds from Chris Smith who received them from Sarah Ross, UGA’s Center for Research & Education at Wormsloe who in turn had received seeds from Sapelo Island seed saving matriarch Cornelia Bailey (now deceased). The seeds were labeled as Ethiopian Red Okra, believed to be a traditional variety of the Gullah Geechee. Velvety, soft, red pods are slightly ridged and grow to six to eight inches long. Plants also have beautiful dark red stems and are moderately branching. Delicious flavor and very ornamental. Very Rare!
6 gram packet contains a minimum of 80 seeds.
