Description
Ratibida columnifera
A robust, drought tolerant native flower that will happily naturalize in any area you’d like to neglect, and will fit right into your cut flower garden too. Blooms last a week or more when cut. Characteristic black, cone-shaped heads are surrounded by drooping, deep-red petals with a cheery yellow accent. At maturity the upright branching stems may become woody. Plants grow 12-36″ tall. Mexican Hat benefits from cold stratification. Typically grown for flowers. Perennial.

Seem to grow well, my goal was to make herbal instant teas by putting finished tea in the freeze dryer… haven’t tried it officially yet. But the seeds sprouted and seem to look good

We are totally happy with abundance of flowers these seeds produced had to take a picture so that you could see. We love all the different colors. The bees and butterflies are thanking us because we watch them pollinate all day
