Description
Alcea rosea
Not for the timid, these Hollyhocks can grow 6-9′ tall! Beautiful old variety has multi-colored single blooms of white, pink, red, and burgundy. Loved by bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Outhouse gets its name because it used to be planted around outhouses, both to mask smell and add a pretty visual barrier. Perfect background plant for borders. Seeds must be cold stratified for best germination. Typically grown for flowers. Biennial.
