Description
Digitalis purpurea
The classic cottage-garden blossom. Beautiful spires of bell-shaped flowers that range in color from white to pink and bloom in the second year after planting. Flowers grow up to 6′ and are especially attractive to bumblebees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. If the main stalk is cut, side shoots will form and bloom later into the season. A biennial that may self-sow but is not invasive. All parts of this plant are poisonous. Typically grown for flowers. Biennial.

After MANY decades away from Sunflower Seeds (Spitting out the shells… an old Brooklyn “habit”) I recently purchased a 12 pack of these shell-less variety here on Amazon. They are absolutely the BEST and I’ll be ordering several more 12 packs soon! No “spitting” shells and the kernels are outrageous on salads!

Okay, I just got this 4 days ago but I just wanted to share that this pack of seeds is sprouting nicely for me. The attached photo shows the sprouting tray, half of which is this brand of seeds, and have another brand. Both are sprouting equally well, as you can see, and this is just on the third day. I soaked the seeds for about 6 hours before putting them in the sprouting tray. There are more sprouts pushing up from under the soil so this is still very early. So far, very happy with the sprout rate.
